It's an AKM variant, not an AK47 variant. If some people think it's useless because of not having a stock and only 8" bbl on a weapon that fires a cartridge that loses terminal efficacy past 400m with a bbl twice as long, I'd encourage them to try standing in front of one while it's firing. Why is it that fudds always believe you have to have a 36" bbl and be firing .338LM to be lethal?

Correct answer: It's very cheap, very reliable/requires no maintenance, very portable, simplistic ergonomics, fires incredibly cheap ammunition, and you can hit a man sized target with 50% accuracy with no training on a mag dump at 50m, fired from the hip. It is absolutely useful for anything anyone in any city is going to be wanting to use an AK for. The people talking about AK47s interchangeably with AKMs, and the people that don't realize the model is called the Draco and for some reason made up an urban myth about it being a nickname, have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. Fwiw all this information is easily available with a google search, and visiting the /r/ak47 subreddit with any questions will avoid all the terrible information you got here.
