But these are a single source and there is NO MENTION OF THE LARGER MODEL LOSING THE HEADPHONE JACK.

What probably happened is Google is sick of HTC limitations, but still had to make a pixel phone with them for the contract.

I am fully expecting only the larger device to have waterproofing, if any.

They're probably trying to copy Apple's rumoured approach this year, Apple is doing two phones exactly the same as the previous ones with minor upgrades and one total revamp. Google probably wanted to do the same but couldn't due to not having the popularity, so they've gone with one slightly different and one complete revamp.

The only rumour here that needs to not be true is the headphone jack. And this year is not the same as previous years, rumours could be true one day but are changing right up to release. Look at the S8 and Note8, buth started with rumours of an under screen fingerprint scanner (AND DIMMY MODELS) the iPhone 8 is less than 4 months away and they STILL can't decide where to put the fingerprint scanner.

Let's wait for more tangible rumours before we all make our decisions ayy?
