Who gives a fuck? The media is sensationalizing every single black person killed by police, regardless if it was 100% justified. What about the white, hispanic or asians that are shot and killed by police? How come they don't get headline news coverage?
You could have the same situation the only difference being the race of the individual. The black person would become breaking news on CNN but the other person who is not black would just be a blip on the local news.
How is this helping?
By all means check into it, report on any foul play, illegal actions or anything actually newsworthy, but don't go immediately start blasting "BLACK PERSON KILLED BY POLICE" if that's the whole story. Why not report on the aspect of the case that effect everyone, especially African Americans? Things like poverty, gangs, education, family, mental health, police training, less lethal options, possible solutions etc.
News has become a tabloid magazine. It is no longer about providing the facts with as little bias as possible and let the viewer come to their own conclusions. Now its just trash recycled 24/7, pushing a certain agenda depending on the source.
This does nothing to help the cause of police shootings, it just cheapens impact for the ones that are actually unjust.
