In the spirit of Halloween - Paranormal or not, what is the scariest, creepiest or most unsettling experience of your life?

This just happened again last night. I would say it's sleep paralysis, but I've been seeing the same thing for years.

This "thing" is what I guess you would call a shadow person. It's tall and skinny, all black except for its eyes which are a bright white/silver, no pupils. But by far the creepiest thing about it is that its knees are bent backwards, like a bird's. Until last night, I had never seen the thing full-on, just a glimpse here and there. Always at night and always in shadows or mirrors. Last night I woke up because the blinds were rattling and I thought the bedroom window was open a crack. My apartment is pretty drafty, so any little breeze can move the blinds.

The blinds were closed, but the window was open a crack. As I was closing it, I noticed that it looked like something was crouching at the window. I live on the third floor. There is no ledge or balcony that it could be standing on. This thing raised its head ever so slightly and I ran back to bed with the blinds still open. When I poked my head out of the blankets, this thing was leaning on the foot of the bed, just staring at me. Picture a 7 foot tall demon Gollum with bright white eyes. That's as close of a description I can get to what was staring me in the face. I buried myself under the blankets again for a few hours and eventually fell asleep again. When I woke up I was convinced that the whole thing was some kind of hyper-realistic nightmare, but I don't know. I remember actually getting out of bed to close the window, because I woke my boyfriend up and he asked what I was doing.
