Like how everyone else thinks, the dub just doesn't do the original voices justice in terms of emotion and delivery. It doesn't make sense to me - the people behind dubbing anime must have to know the complaints and scrutiny that comes with it and yet they never seem to fix the overall problem - the delivery of the lines. When it comes to dubs, I generally have no problem with the 'sound' of the english voices, it's their lack of emotion and delivery. In this scene, the only person I thought did a good job was Armin's VA when he screamed run away to Eren. When Reiner gets his fucking hand sliced off and the piece of the blade stuck on his other hand, and Bert getting sliced in the fucking jugular, their VA's let out a cry as if they got stung by a bee.. like what the fuck man. Even the close-out scene of Eren screaming 'TRAITORS' in the dub isn't as good as it can be. Instead of the lame sounding 'damn you..TRAITORS' with a cut-off at the end, they could have put 'you fucking..TRAITORS' with the end of that line extended out like in the original. Gives it so much more impact and emotion that I don't understand what american dubs are trying to convey. Obviously this is everything that anti-dub people already know but goddamn, even for an 'epic' anime like this, dubs still fuck it up some way or another and it pisses me off considering that these VA's are so called professionals getting paid to do this.
