[Spoiler] Mcgregor vs Diaz media scores

first you guys who are, and i hate to use this term 'casuals' or 'ignorant' not in the notion of an insult but lack of knowledge.. here ya go:

point system is used in MMA and Boxing, what does this mean? 1 knockdown= 1 point deduction to the fighter who received the knockdown, what does this mean?

Say Joe Schmo comes back from a losing fight to KO's his man in the 3rd round but was knocked down in the 2nd and 3rd, the 2nd and 3rd rounds would read 10-8, 10-8... because a point deduction regardless of your current circumstance is written down

meaning you cant just go back and erase a knockdown, even putting in all the work you can on the guy, in Nate's case he was knocked down i believe 5 or 6 times?, that is 6 points technically, however most judges don't do that but give out 10-8 rounds, round 1 and 2 would be two 10-8 rounds, meaning Conor had to lose the remainder of the 2/3 rounds and it will still be a draw.. in another words he only needed to survive, and get a 10-9 round against his favor and still win
