Pretty certain national rail have to much to worry about with fare dodgers than people who are traveling on a paid ticket.
Hmm. You're no doubt right about why the rules exist (there'd be issues with touts as well given that you can often buy tickets earlier at a cheaper price than on the day - ergo I could buy a bunch of them and sell them on the day)
Nevertheless I'm sure you'd find the rules technically make this illegal under the same terms and that's all I said - the truth. Hence the downvotes I guess. Not a subreddit full of intellectually honest people eh?
If someone gets nicked while you're entertaining yourselves with this don't complain especially not if you think ticket inspectors / traffic wardens etc have better things to do. You've probably never come across them before if you imagine they are reasonable people.
