You’d have to first separate their ego from the equation. Some people equate professional success with personal success. Plus there are workaholics. And in the middle section of that Venn diagram, there are the people in denial. I had a dude actually try and convince me working in an office from 8:00-6:00 5 days a week isn’t that bad. Because he’s comparing it to the alternatives. I disagree. Working will literally be the worst and destructive thing I’ll do my entire life. Pretend to be productive for 9 hrs a day feeling like an imposter while an even bigger, richer group of imposters who’ve been doing it longer collect 100x my paycheck.
