Survival Hunters Need Fixing

Call me an optimist, but here's my "fix" for survival which in theory could be implemented already on the PTR (you could interpret all the ptr skills as working this way based on their text). I absolutely DON'T believe that's true yet, but by god I hope it will be come next week.

  • Mastery: Now works as written.
  • Artifact: Fury off GCD again and 9 hits instead of 5.

That's it. We honestly don't need anything else but the buffed numbers on PTR would be nice to have.

Why do I say this is enough?

Mastery AS WRITTEN is likely op (precipitating its change) and would almost certainly be our highest valued stat. The amount of rating necessary to get 1% should have been the fix but whatevs.

Haste gets buffed by proxy as faster pet means more procs.

Fluffy, Go gets fixed because pet haste is fixed.

Raptor points get fixed because its damage was doubled making mok'nathl a valid choice.

In talent tree there are some VERY good changes. I'll skip those and stick to ones that look worthless now AND are untouched on PTR: Mortal Wounds, Caltrops, Serpent Sting, Spitting Cobra, Aspect of the Beast.

  • Mortal Wounds: Now affected by mastery. Fixed.
  • Caltrops: 5 known bugs on live including ignoring crit. Probably still bad but buffed.
  • Serpent Sting: "Can now stack" (I hope)
  • Spitting Cobra: Mastery fixes if the snake can proc it!

That leaves only Aspect of the Beast which believe it or not, is already "perfect" on live. Each tick can proc mastery already because it's a skill no matter how laughable that tick is. Post mastery fix and it could allow you to simply spam +750% mongoose bites for single target.

TL;DR Simply make our mastery work as written and I'd argue survival gonna be ballin'.
