Team Liquid | Rebirth EP01 - Conversation

Just my opinion on the issues presented in the video(with some inferences). I agree with the benching, but I feel for piglet. He left everything to come over here and play for a team that hasn't been top tier. This puts an immense amount of pressure on you. You know they are expecting you to do well, however they admitted they knew it would take him time. I'll touch on the time I believe they should have given him towards the end of this ..

You can tell by the body language that he is distant and alone in the video In general. Especially when they lost, along with the other players. He literally looked suicidal after every post game loss on stage. They say he was streaming etc late, which might not be the best idea. If you put yourself in his shoes though, he has a ridiculous amount of pressure on him..Who knows? Can't sleep, might as well league. Not to mention many KR players sleep much less in general due to even more strict schedules and pressure. He has been used to that lifestyle. Can easily see the others weren't sleeping well either.

The coach I believe told fenix it was his role to initiate, and dom needed to be more support style. Afterwards, dom is saying why are they initiating etc. Well, probably because he was told to, and then he has to comm to the team and piglet. He says the two carries go in and then he follows and is frustrated. This causes chaos as you can see in the teamfights. Fenix did have a few very aggro plays where he whiffed/missed etc that could've won the fight/kept it even. I mean how good is his english? Needs to be better if he is going to be initiating and providing input from piglet..because apparently dom was lost as well about the fights. This comm/initiate won't work in the lcs when a tenth of a second counts. The coach should know this.

Management said that that it was their job to help him and the teams job to help him. At one point..that they're all there to help. It seemed like this all happened after the benching(maybe video editing idk).He got more comfortable and seemed more at ease. Which brings me back to what I brought up in the first paragraph. They knew this would take time. You can't plug and play, they know this(I hope from noticing fails on other teams), so why do it? Instead of tossing him in there, let keith sub another week(where they had to play TSM and c9). Pretty sure plug and play and miscommunication won't work against a team that has been together forever(although struggling), and TSM who after that loss were sure to come back full force. Who knows, maybe they pick up a win. Use this time to get to know piglet, his personality, game philosophy..I mean hell this guy has so much he could bring to the table. Make an effort to reach out(maybe they did, but it didn't seem like it in the video. Most likely because of the plug n play they implemented which immediately turned to issues.

Maybe he was being toxic. He is here, alone, gets thrown into games that they lose. He is frustrated and emotional, causing a bad team environment. But should all this be on him? Others could have been contributing to the negativity as well. I feel like it was an all around failure from coach/analyst/management and the players. Again..just from what I noticed in the video. They're all extremely smart and talented people, but they went about tossing in a non english speaker into a foreign environment the wrong way..knowing how great this roster could be, why force things so quickly?

Again..just my opinion, who knows what else is going on. I'm rooting for them and hope they can pick themselves back up. Great in depth look at the team.
