The Tenets of Homonationalism and Transnationalism

Cisgendered gay people are not any different from straight people, except for that they're gay.

I'm getting real sick of this radical LGBT shit...

Okay, you act as if straight people are some whole collective who all act the same way and want the same things (which is also how you view gay people). But here's what that "gay people are the same as straight people" sentiment means. So straight people are obviously very diverse, some desire to get married and have kids, and some want to be single, stick to hookups, and just live the bachelor/bachelorette life. Some straight people want to be doctors, some want to be engineers, some want to be artists, etc. Some straight people are religious, others are agnostic or atheist.

You get my point, straight people come in all varieties. THIS is the point of saying, yet you see all these fucking radicals cling to this idea that being heterosexual means "middle class, suburban living, 9 - 5 office job, with a spouse in a monogamous relationship, and has two kids", there's no room for anything else if you're straight. On the flip side, they cling to this idea that gay means, "bohemian life, activist, polyamorous relationships, living in an urban environment".

Just take two minutes to critically think, "Gee...maybe not all gay people want the same things...and maybe striving for a typical life isn't about being like straight people, but instead being something that they legitimately desire." But no, just because you want a certain lifestyle means every gay person wants that, and the ones who say they don't are only kidding themselves and just want to please straight people.

Seems pretty homophobic to say that all gay people want the same thing, think the same way, and that none of us can be genuine in dissenting desires or hopes.
