Test, please ignore

Your post has been removed for the following reason(s):

It breaks Rule 1:

Discuss things respectfully, don't just attack people. If you end up arguing, respond to the argument, not the person. It is okay to disagree with someone, but ad hominem arguments and personal hostility are unwelcome here. Don't tear someone down just because they're a proud feminist (or MRA, libertarian, communist, whatever).

You're considered to be a dickparade/dickwolf if you do any of the following things repeatedly:

  • Brazenly insult others. (Example: "You're a fucking stupid bitch.")

  • Wish harm on others. (Examples: "Kill yourself, idiot." ; "I hope you get cancer.")

It breaks Rule 2 (no personal information):

Personal information includes full names, locations, phone numbers, email addresses, etc. Things that aren't linked together on social media count as personal information. For example, if someone's name isn't linked to their Twitter bio, it's safe to assume that posting it would count as dox. If you're uncertain of whether or not a post is as liability for including personal information, please message the mods.

This extends to posting links to pages which contain such information.

It violates Rule 3 - don't post in bad faith:

Holding different opinions is absolutely fine. However, purposefully coming to this sub to antagonise is not acceptable. Examples of "bad faith" posting include, but are not limited to:

  1. Crusading - Having no intention to engage in a meaningful debate or being willing to consider other opinions than your own. Being here to preach about some dogma and not to listen. Being here to fight people, or being driven to post by any other disruptive agenda while not contributing in some other reasonable way.

  2. Trolling - Intentionally posting to make people angry. Making extreme claims to maximize the generated drama and emotion in the response.

  3. Shilling - Detrimental shitposting that can be reasonably expected to have a real, harmful effect on the ability of KiA/GamerGate to accomplish its goals and which provides no constructive input. See also: Divide-and-conquer shit-stirring, intentional and repeated derailment, lying about the rules, impersonation, and false-flagging.

It breaks Rule 5:

No brigading, witch-hunting and other call-to-arms type posts against other users or subreddits.

Don't try and start shit or form an angry mob. Jumping on one person to call them an asshole won't solve anything, anyway.

It violates Rule 6 - Archive links where possible:

Please re-submit with an archive link or screenshot.

Use screenshots or archived links for as many things as possible. This is to preserve articles in their original format, in case they are edited in the future, as well as to ensure that the articles comments sections are not brigaded. If we've learned anything from this, it's that keeping records are important, and archiving pages are our way to preserve those records.

It has been proven false - Rule 7 - Trust but Verify:

Remember to provide evidence for the claims that you make. If your evidence must remain confidential, message the moderators to privately verify your claims. If a post makes a claim that is later proven false, the post will be deleted, regardless of vote totals. We don't want misinformation taking over KiA.

It is a repost - Rule 8:

This includes posting articles on the same topic from different publications when one is already on the front page, unless there is substantial new information. Please check the New queue to make sure your post hasn’t been previously submitted.

It is a meme - Rule 9:

Memes are not allowed as OPs.

It breaks Rule 11:

Posts that originate from other subreddits, unless they mention, reference, or allude directly to gamers, gaming culture, GamerGate, 8chan, or KiA, don't belong here. There will be exceptions to this rule in cases of events such as censorship of GamerGate-related topics, multiple subreddits being banned publicly, or major changes to Reddit policy. Basically, the sorts of things that can be shown to have a direct potential impact on the operation of KiA. General threads about Ellen Pao (that is, unrelated to the aforementioned conditions) should be tagged as [Off-Topic].

Posts that center around GamerGhazi (including "I was banned from Ghazi" posts) will be redirected to /r/ShitGhaziSays.

Issues with general moderation of other subreddits are better off in /r/subredditcancer.

Other metareddit posts are welcome in /r/KiAChatroom.

It is inappropriate for the [CENSORSHIP] tag.

This is only intended to cover censoring of discussion of GamerGate and similar issues in broader "gaming culture". Submissions under this tag still need to follow Rule 11.

You may find that other subreddits such as /r/subredditcancer are better suited for complaints about the moderation of other communities.

It should be a self-post.

Submissions under this category must only be made as self-posts (text). Links can be submitted within self posts but you need to provide a little explanation as to why you feel the content is relevant to GamerGate.

To make a self-post submission, hit the "Text/Self Post" button on the submission screen.

It is too far off-topic to belong in this subreddit.

"Off-Topic" posts need to have a tangible relevance to GamerGate, gaming or wider "nerd culture". For everything else there are more appropriate subreddits to submit to.

Posts about unrelated issues with "Social Justice Warriors" should go to /r/SocialJusticeInAction or /r/TumblrInAction.

Everything else can also go to /r/KiAChatroom

There is already a megathread for this topic.

This topic fits better in the current megathread, and should be posted there. This is done to prevent flooding of the board when a major even happens. Thank you.

This notice also serves as a formal warning for breaking the above rules.
