Texas sues Biden admin for requiring abortions in medical emergencies

Sincerely though, if you allow for a rape exception you're not pro-life.

If the fetus has a right to life, that right to life can't be contingent on decisions made one way or the other by the parents. Including the decision of one parent to rape the other.

That's also why anyone who makes any comment about abortion bans having anything to do with "personal responsibility" of the pregnant person is not pro-life. If the fetus has a right to life, there's no ethical framework where you can deprive that fetus of its right to life just because the pregnant person chose to have sex or just because the pregnant person was raped.

There are really only two legitimate ethical arguments about abortion. The first is at what point the fetus becomes a person who has rights. The second is whether body autonomy or life is the superior right when the two are in direct conflict.

And even if you accept that both the fetus has a right to life and body autonomy is inferior - that is, even if you are fully pro life - you need to allow for a medical intervention to save one life when inaction will lose both
