Theresa May accused of being 'Donald Trump's mole' in Europe after leaked documents show UK tried to water down EU climate change policy

I respect your pov and argument and agree that trumps sheer image is damaging, never mind anything he does on top of that. But I disagree on may. I think she's being purposefully brutal because she wants to lose the election, because it is fundamentally impossible to implement without huge huge damage. Much worse than anyone expects. I met a journalist recently who told me, not only is it common knowledge the tories want to lose, but he also implied that she must have done something terrible to have been forced to take up the leadership. He repeated this (something terrible) assertion quite a few times which i found strange. It seems far fetched that she was blackmailed, I agree, but I also agree with the journalist that nothing is as it seems as far as she is concerned and it is certainly true that none of the tories wanted to lead the ship into Brexit.

Re: the huge damage part, I think the chances of us having our credit rating massively downgraded is high and that will put us in deep deep shit.
