'The Thing Vs. Halloween' || Better John Carpenter Flick

'Halloween' by THOUSANDS of miles. I've always never really cared about 'The Thing'. Great special effects, but aside from that, I never really cared about the movie nor do I find it as engrossing as most people say it is.

People talk about how intense the paranoia and atmosphere is in this movie but I honestly never felt tense or creeped out at any point in this movie. I also think it's one of those movies like 'Saw', where upon rewatch, you lose the same feeling you had the first time around because you know who is infected and who's next.

I don't find any of the characters interesting or likable. For the most part they feel pretty serviceable and bland to me. They all just feel the same and fade into the background. I just can't find myself in them or warm up to them.

I've watched it twice over the course of the last ten years (The first time I was ten, the second time 3 or 4 months ago) but ultimately I just don't care. It's one of those few movies where I can sit there and say "Ok. I can say i've seen this movie."
