I know you're lying because when I was having adverse reactions to a medication police were called to 51/50 me and I know for a fact that unless you are already acting out violently, the police will just sit with you and talk with you and assess you before taking you in. They are required to observe you for a certain amount of time before taking you in. If you were truly being sarcastic and not suicidal, they would have totally seen that and left you alone. They will not just show up at your door and take you in.

Also a tactic that police use is to specifically NOT talk about your psychological problems. They ask you mundane questions, for me they asked if my nose ring hurt to get, and other unimportant stuff. They ask you normal stuff to see what your reaction to it is. They are specially trained to know exactly what type of subconscious body language you have and your mannerisms. If you were just a normal person without deeply troubling mannerisms or behavior, they would not have taken you in.

I actually WAS depressed and was having suicidal ideation, and I was honest with the police and told them that while I did have thoughts of suicide, I had absolutely no plans to do anything, that I was going to tough it out and get through it, that I knew it was just a side effect of the medication. They take it seriously. It's fairly common to THINK about suicide, while having a plan is something entirely different. Police are trying to figure out if you have a plan, if you don't, you usually aren't considered a danger to yourself or others. Being considered a danger to yourself or others is a requirement for being put on an involuntary psychiatric hold, the police who assess this are experts and see mentally ill people day in day out.
