Top Donald Trump aide defends wearing medal linked to Hungarian Nazi sympathisers

The job of President is one that nobody enters into being entirely prepared for it. Regardless of experience, excelling at it is as much about finding the right team of experts and knowing when and when not to rely on them as anything else. It is entirely possible then that someone who had no leadership experience could grow into an excellent president if they had the right cabinet and advisers. Yes, even someone as inexperienced as Trump.

Trump's failure is an outcome predicated upon both his inability or unwillingness to learn, and just as importantly his inability to properly identify capable subordinates and advisors to work with him. Had he not decided to only surround himself with sycophants, even he might have eventually been molded into something approaching a mediocre executive.

But, of course, positive influences on him are next to nil. Who in Trump's cabinet aside from perhaps Mattis can actually give the president good expert advice? Who can steer him away from bad decisions, or at least warn him of possible negative outcomes and consequences?

You may now be thinking, "Sugioh, you're sure being verbose when we were only jokingly talking about Terry Crews as President!" And you would be right! But the point is that the Presidency is not one man, it is a team that has a very visible captain. Trump's presidency is unprecedented not simply because he is an exceedingly, shockingly terrible captain, but because the team he has assembled almost makes him look competent. Any person who is of sound mind and capable of rational thought would be capable of putting together a better team and doing a better job as a consequence: Yes, even Terry Crews.
