Travelers Lose 25,000 Items in Florida Airport Rampage

The shooting Friday afternoon, which killed five people and wounded six, also stranded about 12,000 outgoing and incoming travelers, many returning from cruises or arriving ahead of the usual Saturday departures of the massive ships based in the tourism hub's Port Everglades terminal.

Well that's some bad news for future events. Just imagine if ISIS or some other terrorist organization really want to hurt us quick. Just carry out a shooting in a dozen or more airports spread across the US. They could literally cripple our air transportation network in the blink of an eye. Our SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) would be to lock down the airport, evacuate everyone, and secure the airport when SWAT/FBI arrive on scene. Then the next week (like in the article) is spent putting the pieces together and causing a major disruption to people's lives.

Sure, 12 thousand is a small number compared to 300+ million, but take that 12 and multiply it by 20, 30, 50 even . . . then you have a crisis that only cost the enemy a few low ranking soldiers and very little funding, if any.
