A truckers wife honestly curious about why Prime gets dragged here.

They like to call their lease drivers owner ops, but you aren't an owner op unless you can peel the company logo off your truck and tell that company where to shove it, then take that same truck to your next company.

I don't know much about lease programs, but I know you'll end up in a situation the coal miners used to refer to as "owing your soul to the company store". You want to quit, your choices are buy the truck right there, or lose every penny you paid toward the lease.

As for treatment, megas will treat experienced drivers well, but only because they have plenty of choices. If you're a rookie, then they know you have little chance of getting a job elsewhere (even better for them if you signed a training contract), so they can get away with a lot more.
