Haven’t been trucking in about a year

The thing with western i dont like: no APU, no inverters, no provided fridge or microwave. Aside from that, its fucking cake compared to prime or wilson logistics. They have fuel route taken care of, then a nice outline of what needs to be done at shipper/reciever in a task list format. With prime/wilson, you had to go through an unnecessary list of macros, pick the right one, then fuck around with their slow qualcomm system, especially aggravating if you are close to running out of hours.

With western, the tablet given is responsive, you can take pictures with it incase any issues with pretrip, dispatchers leave you alone if you do what you need to do. With prime, i hated how i had to do a depart call each & every load. Western also gives CPM raises, where wilson would just keep you at .46 or .5 no matter how long you stay with them.

People shit on western express but you gotta keep in mind the type of people that have to resort to western: they had accidents, dont follow procedure, etc. If you like to run hard, i really dont think it matters which company you choose. Made $1,100 my first week, and thats enough for me in my current situation. I wont be staying long term, but itll open the door for me when i decide to move on. Prime/Wilson made me sign a contract, had to do training for two months+, then fired me based on my trainers word alone, no 2nd chance. I could understand if i damaged shit or was dangerous, but im a decent enough driver. They didnt even have the decency of confirming i trained with them for 2 months, so shows how much a "family" type atmosphere they have.

Given you have experience and assuming clean record, im sure you could do better, just do some more digging. Only reason i chose western is because i refuse to have this same bullshit happen again. Training is only a week & ill get my truck. Two months of my life wasted with an egotistical tough guy telling me about his issues i couldn't give two shits about
