Trump's surprise demand for $2,000 stimulus checks blew up Mitch McConnell's master plan and leaves him in a no-win situation

I completely understand that he has the advantage of not caring compared to the likes of Pelosi. But he wins, damn near every single time. When 2018 was supposed to be a massive blue tsunami, with with the Republican Senate map looking horrendous, what did he do? He came out with a larger majority than he had, despite the blue tsunami that hit the house. This year was supposed to be another bad map for Republicans in the Senate, and despite Biden collecting over 81 million votes, he managed to hold on to at least 50 seats. The guy has done nothing but ensure that his Senators have won their elections. Raise your hands if you thought Collins was going to win her seat back. If you think Trump citing $2000 is going to magically destroy McConnell, well I have a bridge to sell you.
