The truth is Chip is uncomfortable around grown men of our culture. -Boykin

Such as? Taking the top off the defense? He did that. Leading the team in yards after the catch? He did that

This isn't true. Maclin is a more traditional route runner. Jackson averaged 14.17 yards per target in his last season in Philly while Maclin averaged 9.22. That's a HUGE difference in efficiency. Jackson was a true deep threat, Maclin was a guy who could work well all over the field and occasionally hit you up deep. Jackson makes his money down the field. The sheer efficiency of Jackson's production actually means you can keep him and a volume guy like Maclin without really hurting your team. Matthews is your Maclin replacement more than Maclin was your Jackson replacement. Again, if you look at the targets and efficiency, Maclin ate into Riley Cooper's numbers, not absorbed Jackson's.

No, he wasn't, we offered him a contract but Chiefs overpaid for him, why would he choose less money when he can play in his home state with the coach that drafted him?

Maclin wanted something, Eagles offered less than that. If that isn't letting someone walk, then I don't know what is. Contract negotiation isn't a magic number game where the team with the closest blind guess gets the player. He would have gone in saying he wanted $X and if the Eagles didn't agree (they had first negotiations) to it then they let him walk. You say overpay because it's your team but from Maclin and KC's perspective, the Eagles under-offered. This is homerism to an extent man.

Disappeared in the playoffs and can't run block, which is a big deal in our offense, we need everyone blocking. That's what it means to buy into the system.

If he attempted to block and can't block, that's ability, not effort. Foles had 195 yards that entire game and targeted Jackson 6 times for 3 receptions. That's around in line with his usual production although the efficiency was down. Can you say for sure he was hotdogging it, or are you just looking at his numbers and blaming him? Can you say for sure Foles didn't miss him open on some plays?

Hmm maybe a connection there? Why would anyone want to trade for him after that report came out? And all the other reports that said we were going to cut him?

Jackson signed a contract 4 days later. It did not take long for no one to take that report very seriously. After all of the Aaron Hernandez comparisons rightly died down, he was a hot commodity.
