[USA] Recent Texas news segment on left lane hogging

This makes no sense. Is it a fast lane or a passing lane? They keep calling it a passing lane and complaining when someone is going the speed limit in it yet all I'm getting is that they want to bitch because they can't speed and pass cars on the left, in which case it wouldn't be a passing lane it would be a fast lane. You get ticketed for going above the speed limit right? If someone is going the speed limit in the right and left lane then it is perfectly okay. You are just getting mad because you want to speed and they are blocking you by going the speed limit. If an emergency vehicle comes up behind you when you are going the speed limit in the left lane you should get over. That's an emergency and it makes sense for them to be speeding. This is just a video of them trying to justify making money from a stupid ticket. How can you be impeding the flow of traffic if you are going the speed limit? Traffic should flow just fine if everyone is going the speed limit. If you aren't, move to the right. Sure there are people that are idiots and sit in the left lane going below the speed limit in which case it is perfectly fine to be mad as that is impeding the flow of traffic. At this point passing lane and fast lane mean the same thing. Just look at how they talk about the person going the speed limit in the left lane and how people have to pass them on the right. Ticketing them over the people speeding and passing on the right makes no sense. Why is it that you are allowed to speed and pass in the left lane but when someone is going the speed limit in the left lane it is worse than speeding? If you have a legit reason to be speeding in the left lane then you should and they should move over for you but the world isn't that perfect and most people use it as a fast lane. The $500 fine makes no sense and shouldn't exist. This is just the police trying to justify a stupid fine and everyone else trying to justify their road rage when not able to speed.
