Weekly Newbie Thread - Post questions about joining the AF or what a job is like here & here only - week of October 05

I don't know if this is the right place to post this kind of question, but I figure I should follow the sub rules since it does pertain to my enlistment attempt in '09-'10.

First thing first, this guy was my recruiter. I'm not going to post one of the search results because I'm not here for that; I simply want to know if I have any ground to stand on.

In 2009-10, after I left college I attempted to join the Air Force; I got all the way to the MEPS physical. I failed out due to my blood sample failing the drug screening.

I was very up front and honest with the aforementioned recruiter; for the previous 6 or so months I had been smoking weed because I was coping with leaving school before I graduated. Approximately 30 days prior to me approaching the recruiter I stopped. When physical day came about, and I was signing the waivers I told the recruiter that I probably couldn't pass a blood screening, and that if they were going to screen my blood I wanted to delay the MEPS schedule. The recruiter told me only the urine sample was drug tested, and the blood sample was for pathogens/diseases. A couple weeks after MEPS I got the letter stating I had failed the blood screening.

When I called the recruiter, he was dismissive of my situation and told me that I wasn't wanted by the USAF.

I found out about the recruiter a couple months ago...and it has been eating me up inside because I still would like to join a service branch (even though I am 29 now, and the possibility is slim). But I still think about "What if".

Again, try to refrain from discussing the recruiter's issues...I am not here for that.
