While I agree with you I also think my parents made some poor choices when I was growing up. I love my dad, he raised me well and was almost always there for me but him and my mom also took 3 or 4 vacations a year and left my brother and I behind, they didn't save any money for retirement, they didn't save any money to help my brother and I through university. My dad will no money saved for retirement and I'm just not gonna be able to take care of him even though I'd love to. I'm gonna spend the next decade paying off student loans, I'm not gonna be able to afford to own a home, I'm not gonna get to be able to take vacations like they did. As soon as I can afford to actually live my life why should I then be saddled down taking care of my father?
