I think Martins was meddling in the basketball decisions even though he has no expertise. The writing was on the wall that old man Devos wasn’t going to live much longer and they had a strong desire to get a championship before he died. All those moves were short sided and seem like they have Martins backing. Skiles hiring. Skiles hates Tobias and gets him shipped out for his guy. That move doesn’t work out and Skiles splits. Then that off season they try to get more veteran talent with ibaka, and the Devos family writes a blank check and the best they can do is Biyombo. The Biyomba move is so bizarre it just seems like someone told Hennigan if we don’t spend this money the Devos family will be pissed that we are not trying hard enough to get the chip before Rich D kicks the bucket.
