You get trained on your task or work cards. And go to work. I worked on the 757 line for 8 months as a contractor. I just did work the unions guys didn’t want to do.

An example would be cleaning a main wheel well. Got a ladder, paper towels, air hose and small brushes. Started at the top and cleaned all the metal shavings and grease. Wiped it clean

My favorite job was cutting cardboard on Saturday or Sunday. They always seem to hang the engines on a Friday night. So Saturday somebody had to clean up all of the shipping containers. Do I would get a razor knife and box of blades. Leave the engine boxes. And cut up the intake, reverser, pylon boxes. Throw all the pieces into the engine boxes. Then stack the pallets.

10 hours of work on double time with shift differential kicked ass.
