What drives some peoples dislike of others? Why do people think someone they don't like is lying simply for the fact that they don't like them?

Dude. Chill. Of course people choose what to believe based on whether they like someone on not. It happens with celebrities and politicians all the time. And you mentioned that your supervisor plus 3 other people, plus your cousin, plus other students asking you why you're beating your own dick with your accomplishments. That's not 3 people. I could be wrong and the people that asked you why are the same 3. If that's the case, then sorry. And also, obviously I wasn't making an assumption about you talking about yourself if students are telling you stuff like that. It's not a matter of whether it's true or not. They believe that.

And I was referring to your original post. Not your reply to me. I was just saying, that if you wrote all this wall of text post asking for advice then that means that you care. Nothing more. Nothing less. I wasn't acting superior. And I told you why they do what they do. You just don't believe me. They simply don't like you so they choose not to believe you.
