It's still messing with your body.

I thought that I was invincible until gallstones clogged up my bile ducts which led to 5 instances of pancreatitis in less than 3 months.

I had to have my gallbladder removed and get 3 ERCP's to get all the stones...and the ERCP's can cause pancreatitis which 2 out of 3 did so I left one hospital just to go right back to another. The other episodes were the initial one and two more times due to the stuck stones and I guess I wasn't careful enough with my diet between stone removals (too many stones to remove at once and a couple appts had to be rescheduled which set me back a whole month total as it was a 2 week wait from setup to appt).

They don't let you eat until it goes away (3-5 days mostly) when you get treated for that, at least not without a feeding tube, but they just starved me and gave me fluids. It's the worst pain and naseua you'll ever feel in your life except for kidney stones. Plus you could end up with chronic pancreatitis...meaning you'll be kissing alcohol and any tasty food goodbye forever or be in severe pain.

Luckily mine didn't turn chronic, at least not for the most part. There are certain things that I've eaten that set off severe phantom gallbladder pains and it feels like my pancreas is on fire but it goes away within the day, hope you don't like hotdogs because that's what did it last time (they were free and like I said I'm normally ok). I was haaaaating life when I thought it'd be chronic and the stones were still stuck so I had to be really careful...and I'm an annoyingly picky eater so it was really fucking hard, plus my bf was still eating shit right in front of me and the tv was reminding of all the food I couldn't eat. It was hell.

This may very well never happen to you, but if it does, you'll hate yourself for not practicing moderation. You can't go back in time though. Prevent it now and moderately eat whatever you want and chances are you won't end up old and on a restricted diet hating your young self.
