What is one thing COVID has taken away that we’ll never get back?

All the goos people this virus has taken.

My aunt was the sweetest and gentlest woman who just loved her children, all of us nieces and nephews, her 31+ grandchildren (Mennonite with 9 kids, 8 were married).

One time when I was 5, I was up in northern Indiana one winter visiting my grandparents over Christmas. My mom let me stay with my aunt and uncle and (at the time) 8 cousins for the night. A snow storm happened, and we were snowed in for 3 days. That first morning, Valerie, Joshua, Dorvin and I were sitting with the kitchen door wide open, playing with the snow that had piled up between the screen door and the main door. I got a yellow Nesquick container and filled it up with snow and tried so hard to put it in the freezer because I had never seen snow in my memory. I was dead set on taking that snow home.

Well, my aunt Shirley saw me trying my hardest to put my Nesquick snow in the freezer and she grabbed it and put it in the freezer for me and didn't question it. I forgot about the snow as soon as the freezer door closed. I'm sure she probably threw it out a few days later.

Shirley was truly a saint of a woman. It's been a year and a half since she's been gone.
