You can't control what rings your bell. Some people are wired that way. Is it better for them to have cartoons to satisfy that urge, or do you force them to look for other sources that have actual victims?

Let me be clear: I am not defending child abusers. I know first hand that child abusers can destroy entire webs of life; the victim and the victim's entire family and entire future family. Personally I'm a proponent of capital punishment or chemical castration for people who do act on the urge, because it's an issue with fundamental wiring, and I'm skeptical that any amount of prison or counselling can change that. It's like expecting anti-gay camp to be effective -- and just as hideously stupid.

That being said, some people's attitudes towards cartoons is weirdly reminiscent of how some people used to talk about interracial couples, or same sex couples, or BDSM or anything that isn't "stare at the ceiling and think of the England" -- hell, some people still do.

Is anyone being hurt? No? Then even if it's weird to you, understand that it may just be what they want, or what they need. Why take it away from them?
