What’s the worst thing someone tried to correct you about something you’re specialized at?

I don't understand why everyone seems to have an opinion on economics/finance, despite having extremely limited understanding of how economies or banking systems work. No one would ever pretend to understand pediatric surgery or electronics engineering if they didn't work in those fields but apparently economics/finance is fair game at literally every dinner party.

I'm doing my Masters in Finance at a top ranked business school and while I'm incredibly far from an expert, I know enough to say that people should really educate themselves on basic economic principles, the banking system, corporate structures, etc. so we don't just get ignorant yelling about how "Wall Street/Facebook/Shell/China/<insert daily circlejerk>. is evil."

P.S. I know economics is very different than finance but I grouped them together because understanding either field requires at least a decent basis in the other and people complain about economics/corporate stuff equally.
