What shouldn't be popular but still is ?

Here in Canada there is a huge push to get heathcare practitioners to move to Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

My company is in the healthcare field, and we do a lot of market research. Lately, all of our market research is related to EMR.

A huge percentage of Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, and Specialists would all like to move to an EMR system, but can't because they are restricted by external factors, such as their referring office(s) use of fax, letter mail, some crappy archaic system from the 1960s, etc.

The younger generations of practitioners (grew up in the internet age) all want EMR.

The older generations of practitioners still want to use fax, mail, archaic systems.

It will take 100 years and a slow die off of the older generation of practitioners that are holding everyone back before EMR becomes the standard. (It sounds rude and awful, but it is the reality, unfortunately).
