What was something you saw you were definitely NOT supposed to see?

Comments made about me to one of my exes friends. Some of them were true but taken out of context and one wasn’t true at all but he wanted sympathy. I thought we had the ideal relationship because we rarely ever fought the first two years. Turns out he was just taking it all out on me behind my back. He made me out to look like an idiot and a laughing stalk. I didn’t care how much we fought, as long as issues were kept between us. I also wanted him to make things right and stand up for me but the most he would do was cut off one of the women. The other was a family friend so she couldn’t exactly be cut out. I still regret staying after he didn’t stand up for me (he kept telling me he would and did and I kept finding out otherwise). He never wanted to look bad in front of others so i was always left holding the bag.

Advice for every couple out there: don’t speak poorly about the person you love. Once you taint people’s minds, it’s hard to undo. No one is perfect though. If this mistake is made, then the individual needs to be stood up for and all negative talk about that person needs to be shut down. If you do this enough, people will get the hint they aren’t to speak poorly of your significant other. It just needs to be made right. When you love someone you want to protect them and their image.
