What were you known for in highschool?

For my freshman year, I was trying growing out my hair - oh those stupid phases we try. I wanted to comb it back, but because my hair was so naturally curly... it turned into an afro. I thought it looked suave, /cringe.

Anyway, my first day in high school - during lunch they had a couple foosball tables with a bunch of kids, mostly seniors - hanging out and playing foosball. I thought I'd try to join in. I had a habit of skipping lunch and pocketing my lunch money, so I just bought a soda from the machine and walked over.

It was just as awkward as you're imagining - waiting on the side while all these people that have known each other for years are talking and laughing. I stood there for a good 15 minutes, half of lunch - just waiting. I had pretty much accepted the fact I'd just be standing there watching until the end of lunch.

A few minutes after that, one of the kids said he was going to grab lunch real fast. I had called next way earlier, but there were still kids ahead of me, so I just stayed there leaning against the wall - when one of the seniors yelled over "HEY FRO DADDY, WE GOT A SPOT FOR YA" - and they all started dying laughing.

My nickname was born.

Luckily I was pretty good at foosball, titan defense - and every day when I came in I was a preferred partner, always called by my new nick name, "Fro Daddy" - every day there after. I'd be walking down the halls and people I didn't even know would be like "FRO DADDY!!!".

The funny thing is, a few months later I ended up shaving it all off - and even despite having no hair, the nick name stuck forever. I still, TO THIS DAY, still get called FRO DADDY - when I haven't had hair long enough to grab in... 12 years now.

TL:DR Having an Afro. Some douche senior called me "FRO DADDY" my first day freshman year and it just stuck - forever. I cut my hair a few months later, shaved it all of and have kept it that way ever since - but even despite having no hair, there's still people who call me "FRO DADDY" to this day - 12 years later.
