What were the worst trends of 2015?

I love how most Americans think that we are a loving, welcoming nation. Bitch please. Every single group that is different that has come here throughout our history has endured ridiculous amounts of racial, ethnic, and religious prejudice. My theology teacher in high school at my catholic school (who is Irish, his parents were off the boat) called the Irish the blacks of the North back in the late 1800s and early 1900s, before a larger percentage of black people ended up in the north. And it was true. No Irish Need Apply is the big one. Hell, even 25 years ago when my mom and her parents came to America, they all changed their last name to something generic because it was hurting my Grandpa's job prospects.

Same thing on the other side of the family. My father's side was Mexican and Brazilian. Luís was changed to Louis, Maria was changed to Mary, etc. The last name also got simplified and anglicized because they weren't getting jobs. Hell, I was driving home from Boston visiting my cousins (Irish ones who moved here relatively recently) and a cop stopped me in Connecticut while I was filling up my gas because he thought I stole the car I was driving. He also asked if my license was fake because I have Irish first and middle names but a Latino last name and I'm olive skinned.

Black people have always had a rough time since they were brought here. Even nowadays, they still are getting profiled, even in cities known for being liberal. New York, of course, had the stop and frisk policy, which basically used to stop anyone that looked somewhat suspicious and search them for guns and drugs.

In World War II, we put the Japanese in internment camps because we feared that they were spying on us.

We still have only had one Catholic president (Kennedy), and no Jewish ones. All of the Presidents of the United States were either some form of Protestant or unaffiliated (Lincoln and his VP-turned-President Johnson). Jewish people have always faced struggles since coming to America. I'm like 90% sure that it was illegal to be Jewish back in the early days of the country. It certainly hurt the Jewish people when they came over to us in WWII, much like the Syrians of today, and were discriminated against.

I don't even think I should start to bring up the homophobia of the majority of our pop culture.

Even today, we want to put up a wall to keep the Mexicans out but have built no such wall to keep our Canadian neighbors out who are mostly white and English speaking (God knows we should have built one to keep Bieber out). We want to ban Syrians from coming into the country on the off-chance that 1 of 100,000 is a terrorist.

Basically, if you are not white, male, straight, and some form of Protestant, you are gonna have a rough time. I honestly think all of the discriminated people in this country should just go the way of the Irish and fucking make like 10 inter-ethnic/racial babies per marriage. That's how the Irish got accepted by America. We literally made so many babies that it became near impossible for someone to not date someone who isn't at least somewhat Irish. And most people can't hate something that they are a part of.
