Terrorist bombing during September of 2016 in New Jersey. No one was hurt due to none being near the one pipe bomb that detonated but it had the place locked down for over 8 hours while they searched for more explosives. At the time I was still a kid and the incident traumatized me. Despite no one dying I later found out via reports two pipe bombs were found undetonated along the route I ran the marathon on hidden in trash cans. The one that did detonate was planned to be set off during a second race where the route would pass by the bomb, the only reason no one died or was hurt was due to sign ups being delayed by 20 minutes. The person who set of the bombs later set off bombs in Manhattan which injured over 30 people.
