What's your experience with dating apps/pages?

Mine is definitely a mixed bag. Only been using the likes of tinder and bumble since November and in all honesty it's been an absolute shit-show with a few rare well-adjusted human beings.

The first guy I ever met up with I dated for about 6 weeks and got pretty close to before he then ghosted me which was amusing. The last thing I remember him saying to me was 'I'll speak to you tomorrow'. That was in January lol.

Then the second person I met up with was a total catfish and looked absolutely nothing like his pictures. Obviously, I was far too socially awkward to point this out to him, so thereon ensued the most uncomfortable 45 minutes of my life. Didn't have to heart to tell him that maybe he should consider changing his profile to accurately reflect himself - so there's probably been a slurry of poor women who've had the same experience as me.

The I've also had a few casual 'hook up' type encounters, which have been surprisingly good for the most part. Definitely more successful than my actual 'dates' anyway.

To be honest though, it is good fun. Tinder is genuinely hilarious, especially some of the bios and weird conversations you have. I literally had a poor guy tell me about how he got turned on my girls making fun of his micropenis, and tried to get me to start humiliate-sexting him, which was an offer I had to turn down. It's shows a very strange cross-section of society for sure.

Having said that though, I don't have a problem with meeting people online at all. I think it's a great way to connect with people you wouldn't get to chance to in ordinary life. I met my ex boyfriend on Tumblr (lol) way back in 2011 and we were together for 4 years and are still very close now.
