My gf of several years just broke up with me last month, she stopped being emotionally there, her smile was less, her laugh was gone, her 'i love yous' were fewer and far between and had less into them than before. She was more and more quiet and distant, always saying she was suddenly to busy and didn't have the time for me. I would give a gift and she would get angry and annoyed, I would complement her and she would brush it off and get annoyed. I would ask her multiple times whats wrong or did something happen, she would say its ok and its fine. Last month I asked her again and she finally told me she was going to therapy and had a lot of issues that she wasn't aware of, and that she didn't want to hurt me anymore than she already had by pushing me away and I deserved better, I told her I did and we agreed best to break up rather then continue what we were doing.
