Women in esports

Sounds like it's still pretty backward-minded where you live. I mean, I can't change social stigma, so it's just going to be hard on you. Though, I have no idea why the people you know despise girls playing video games.

"gamer girls don't need to train because they can just make as much money just by streaming hearthstone, they're girls after all"

It's true and, if anything, everyone is to blame for this. You realize that the majority of video gamers are pubescent teenage boys; they'll jerk off to anything with boobs on their screen. Maybe you find the idea of showing yourself on the internet to strangers who will develop sexual thoughts about you disgusting, but even more girls embrace that idea, thus calling themselves "gamer girls" and stream with their cleavage showing all the time and talking like some camgirl. That's right, this is what people do for attention and money. Can you really blame them?

why is there not a single woman present in any team?

I guess I can finally share my opinion on PMS Asterisk. If you don't know that, it's an organisation made for girl gamers to help them get recognized in the competitive scene in esports in general (they have teams and stuff). Cutting things short, despite having such support to realize their career in esports, Asterisk has achieved close to nothing in dota 2. They almost never attended any tournaments, big or small, to begin with. When you see such a situation, you really can't help but wonder what those girls are doing with their affiliation to the organization. Oh, actually, you can just check out their social media pages; you will just see plenty of their pretty faces having all sorts of fun while doing all sorts of things except training in dota. There you have your answer: They're basically just a group of pretty looking girls, who happen to be above average in a competitive game, looking for internet attention.

I'm sorry if that was harsh but I personally expected something from Asterisk, especially with Furryfish and her various involvements in the dota 2 scene for so many years. I support and believe in Furryfish but it seems like the rest of the girls do not share her cause, which is disappointing. Like I said, they really seem to just want to be internet famous.
