Women in IT jobs: It's bad and getting worse, thanks to 'brogrammer' culture

It kind of sucks, too, because you never know if you're being hired because you're good at what you do or because you're filling out a quota :/

Just take the job. Please be competent or at least professional. And don't EVER blame anything on being a girl. I've heard 3 girls in my working career go I didn't even think I was qualified. I can't believe I got the job!

I grind my teeth. And there are plenty of qualified women don't get me wrong. But when I watched 2 of buddies take a technical test with one scoring 100%, the other scoring 80% and 3 girls scoring 0% I go into fits of rage when they hired the 100% guy and three of the 0% girls, who have no problem admitting they scored 0%. They shouldn't have even been interviewed which is why they scored 0%. It isn't your fault the law is the way it is. Everyone knows what happened their expect the idiots who scored 0 who got hired.

I just wish at some point they'd just stop pussy footing around it and just only admit into college what they will hire. Like if we need 40% of whatever demographic then they stop admitting what isn't needed. So for teaching no more women are admitted to programs. Force them into comp sci or whatever. Likewise no more males in engineering. Force them into nursing. Hell start drafting women if they can't meet 50% of the force. If diversity is good just make it happen. Force guys to stay at home and raise kids.

I just don't understand why we have AA when people clearly have different interests. I'm sorry people give you shit about job security. They shouldn't do that but FUCK I've worked with people that literally are causing me to get less done because I'm playing baby sitter and I can do it faster without them. Anyways the system is the system. If you work hard and are professional people will love you.
