I remember exactly where it was when it happened. Unlike other days of a similar nature, I remember everything that transpired that day.

Remember where you were on 9/11? Of course you do what you may not recall is what happened later that evening when your life had more or less settled back into its routine, which it did, unless you were one of the soot covered soul caught in the blast radius at ground zero, the ones most of us saw in the pictures or on the TV.

In that way 12/31 was no different than any other of the dates seared into our memory. A momentary awakening followed by a relapse into routine. Except for me and I assume, a few others scattered around the globe, routine is a luxury not afforded to us, we remember exactly what we heard on the last day of 2016, we live a life on the lam hiding from an enemy unknown, we have been branded lunatics and we are ostracized, we the soot covered souls from a snapshot you no longer remember, please reawaken our survival is at stake.
