Xbox One owner who was lucky enough to snag a PS4 for $200 and all I can say is.....wow!

I always get downvoted when I broach the topic, but screw it. I don't agree. It has gotten better over time for sure, and pins and the (limited) customization are great on X1, but I still think PS4 is organized better—especially as regards sifting through any menu to modify a setting. Flat lists beat the hodgepodge on each page present on X1, in my book. "My games and apps" is layed out completely different from "Friends," which is layed out completely different from "Achievements," and so on. "Put up big pictures" seems to be the only consistent aspect of the design language on X1, with each page applying that rule in a completely different and random way, which results in not knowing where to look unless I'm constantly using the app or menu. X1 has numerous apps where all the info and icons are spread—not across 2 separate pages—but across 1 and a half pages that bleed into one another, always cutting off half of the next/previous page; who thinks this is a good idea?! Compare that to PS4, where drilling down into settings is a simple list with consistent font sizes and conforming iconography, and each time you drill down what you find is organized the same way as the previous folder. Also, ads are plastered in random places beginning on the very first page on X1, whereas they are only in the store and the activity feed on PS4.

Seeing big pictures is aesthetically nice, but that isn't better organization, especially when tiles are periodically changing on each page. I can parse the information and options on PS4 much more easily. Sure, I have to go over to the library once in a while on PS4, but the same is also true X1.
