Xyp9x on twitter: Player association for Danish esport athletes created

Xyp9x and DEF create the Esport Player Association Like football, basketball, etc., have their own player association, Esport now also gets one, as Xyp9x creates the Esport Player Association together with DEF Sport. Posted by: Sander 18 June 2017 16:00

Xyp9x is the man behind the Esport Player Association.

Esport and, in particular, Counter-Strike have undergone a wild development in recent years, where wages and prizes have been gained in the million-class. Such a development often calls for new players, and now another is reporting on the course, Dust2.dk can reveal.

It is DEF Sport, the Danish Elitesportsudøveres Association, which, in cooperation with Xyp9x from Astralis, establishes a player association for the Danish esports practitioners, called the Esport Player Association.

DEF-Sport is an umbrella organization for the Danish players' clubs. The association of badminton, SpiBa (basketball), Ice Hockey Player Association and now the organization also counts esport.

The Esport Player Association is aimed at Danish practitioners who are not necessarily on contract now, but who rely on a professional career, which is a requirement for membership.

As a member of the Esport Player Association you can get help and advice on the legal relationship in one's contract, pension, savings, missing salary, tax and education.

In connection with the creation of the trade union, Dust2.dk has spoken to Mads Øland, Director of DEF Sport, and he says that it is the development of employment contracts that enable DEF Sport to enter into the eports:

We have been following esport for a long time, where we have experienced the sport in recent years, and the industry has also been highly professionalized. In this connection, we became aware that more and more employees are employed on real employment contracts, as is the case in many other sports in Denmark. That's why we saw it as logical that sporting practitioners should also be able to become part of their own union, "says Mads Øland, before explaining what DEF Sport can do, as players and teams can not:

Many elite athletes are experts in their sports. But it does not necessarily mean that you also have time, profit or legal skills to see if the employment contract you have offered is reasonable and what the individual provisions mean. We can help the athletes with that. And that need has the esports performers in Denmark as well. In addition, we are available and can help with all the other challenges they encounter during their career. For example, Be about insurance, retirement and sports savings, tax, unemployment insurance or education.

It costs 500 kroner for membership if you are 18 years old, while members under 18 drop 300 kroner annually for accountants. It is also a possibility for members to get A-box through Dansk Metal.

Xyp9x is the frontfigurer of DEF Sport and he has been a major part of the creation of the association so he is not surprisingly very positively voted against the Esport Player Association:

The Esport Player Association can help and advise on all the issues we encounter as professionals or encountered. It is a unique opportunity for new talents and professionals to get the necessary and competent advice from a representative who has only the interests of the player in mind.

The Danish star also says to Dust2.dk that the reason that the players can not get the contractual conditions in place and make a saving are skills and time shortages:

We are professional athletes - not lawyers, accountants or agents. Expertise is necessary to ensure players' rights. And as a professional, you do not have the time to focus on these things while performing and playing. Therefore, it is important that you can get help with that of your player association, which 100% defends your interests.

It's exactly the same as in any other sport, here we are not different from them. So, therefore, I am very pleased that DEF sports have moved into esport and recognize it as a sport.

The Esport Player Association is thus a reality, and it is in the wake of the fact that Danish Esport also got its first agent agency, Thanks!
