Say you're a virgin without saying you're a virgin

I've come to believe over the past few years that there really are only four orientations: Straight, Gay, Bi, and Asexual. Everything else is just a personal preference or personality traits somewhere among those four.

I don't really understand the obsession with such specific, esoteric labels. The whole point of labels is to act as a shorthand, to explain something quickly and easily, but if I have to go consult several wiki articles to decipher the wall of labels you use to define yourself, those cease to be useful outside of your specific subculture.

I mean, I'm probably the least qualified to have an opinion in this department. I'm a straight white male, the plain saltine cracker of people. I've never had to deal with struggling to understand who I am. But part of me feels like such specific labelling of orientation isn't helping people.
