She is 19. Leo is 48.

What do you two have in common?

I feel like this is a very common response with regards to age gaps, but I don't really get it. People of different ages still watch movies, read books, have hobbies, travel etc. Two people of different ages cna definitely have common ground on that basis.

I assume people are probably more referring to life stage commonality - but even still, it makes an assumption out of what the older person wants. If the older person isn't looking to settle down/have kids, i.e. they just want to enjoy spending time with the other person, then I don't see why the life stage thing matters either.

I also think this is different for celebrities, because the lifestyles they lead are so vastly different to the ordinary person - I think their "lifestages" and commonalities are very different to ordinary folk.

Overall, there are definitely causes for concern with relationships with age gaps, but I don't buy that age gaps inherently mean abuse/manipulation or any other kind of harm. As far as I'm aware, none of Leo's exes have accused him of any wrongdoing, so what is he doing wrong?
