These are frogs we're talking about. They have the neural volume/complexity necessary to stay alive and reproduce and little else. It is evident that you did not know about the possibility of harming them or yourself through meer physical contact with them. Your wife reacted that way (from my limited perspective) because she believed she could empathize with the frogs, but that's just not possible to do between mammalian and amphibian intelligences.

If these were dogs or cats or some other animal with higher intelligence, it would be YTA. They weren't, your wife gave a very human and malice-free, if misguided, response, and the frogs don't even have the capacity to remember the incident. NAH.
