Thread, yall mad at asian women, but here’s the thing. White beauty and desirability is not just a thing in this specific movie. It’s in the modeling industry, it’s in the music industry. Why are Victorias Secret models blue eyed and blonde? Why are there no asian american rap artists in the billboards (male or female)? Why has america not voted in an asian president? Racism is not a person here or a person there. It’s in every aspect of the world, in every crevice of people’s psyches.

I’m happy to excuse and pity those who internalize racism. Folks who are raging heatedly - are you really helping the cause, by dividing people and being misogynistic? Asian americans in general have been told their whole lives they are inferior - can you really blame teenage girls for trying to attain whiteness? I’ve also heard asian guys not wanting to date asian girls because they look like they could be a sister. That was makeoutclub, year 2000.
