The American workforce's hiring process has become entirely toxic.

My employer is desperately short-staffed and has a surplus of qualified candidates to hire into a growing amount of vacancies. These are low skill jobs with competitive wages/benefits. Many are full-time, or 25+ hours part-time. Managers have preferred candidates for all positions, and many have already completed the full interview process(es) for their vacancies. However, we can't actually offer a contract until our corporate recruiter updates some files and then we can send to senior management for approval. It's been weeks or months, depending on the vacancy. Our recruiter can't keep up with our demands as well as the other locations he is covering. When the contract is accepted, there's another (?) waiting period for the criminal record check and any salary negotiation that may happen. After that, it's anywhere from 2-7 days of onboarding/training. As far as I can tell, we're at least a month away from being a month away from the end of this particular recruiting crisis.
