Angela Merkel warns that Britain will not be able to access the EU single market if it refuses to accept the free movement of people

According to the hard brexit mantra: The UK can still trade with Europe under WTO terms, Europe can impose tariffs on imports but the weakening of sterling will likely offset them.

With the EU, trade is a hook to impose a political solution and it's a system where the EU political elite determining the trajectory of that system are not chosen by the people, can't be removed by the people and therefore aren't answerable to any electorate. It's a politburo model for a cozy political elite that really has no place in western political systems.

The EU is piledriving towards federalism without seeking the consent of the people it claims to represent, europeans. It seems to be more interested in serving the needs of the politicians and the banks rather than the people, it has it's flag, it has it's anthem, it has it's central bank, it has it's own currency, it wants an army. The EU wants to be a single federation with all the control, it's a political power grab by the elites, and its a fundamentalist, mantra driven organisation paralysed by its own rigidity.
